Ideal's Involvement with GDYT

Ideal Group was invited in 2015 by Mayor Mike Duggan to assist in “kick-starting” Grow Detroit’s Young Talent. Grow Detroit’s Young Talent is a six-week summer employment program which allows youth between the ages of 14 and 24 to experience the American workforce. In 2015, Mayor Mike Duggan collaborated with businesses within Detroit to provide a total of 5,600 jobs to Detroit youth.

This summer, Ideal Group will continue to invest in the Southwest Detroit community by providing 20 jobs through the program. The company will help Mayor Mike Duggan carry out his goal of providing a total of 8,000 jobs to local youth.

The youth will be placed throughout the Ideal companies and will be assisting our professionals with various tasks. Their work will include a mix of outside and inside projects.

Ideal Group hopes to make this summer a learning experience. We strive to make this internship program about more than strictly work. We value the personal development of the youth and hope that through our program we can watch them develop into young men and women who display a high level of care and concern for their community.
